The new Invitel Portal on Sense/Net 6.0

The first portal on the world’s first open source .Net based enterprise grade content management suite

HTCC (Hungarian Telephone and Cable Corp.) was corporated in Delaware, USA. The company provides telecommunications services in Hungary through its subsidiaries. In 2007, HTCC Group products and services were merged under the Invitel brand name. The Invitel Group is now the number one alternative network provider and the second largest fixed-line service provider in Hungary.

The first phase of our cooperation with Invitel/HTCC was the renewal of the corporate portal and the replacement of their old WCMS system with a portal and enterprise content management system. We built their new portal on Sense/Net Portal Engine 5.5 including special custom developments. The project also involved fully outsourced support and operation.

In the second project we upgraded the portal engine of the second largest Hungarian telecommunications service provider to our new open source product, Sense/Net 6.0. This was the first project using the world’s first open source .Net based enterprise grade content management suite. The upgrade included no downtime and the upgraded portal now serves more than 1 000 000 voice, data and Internet services subscribers, including 50 000 business accounts.

The Invitel Group owns Hungary’s most state-of-the-art proprietary backbone network with 7152 kilometres of optical network.

HTCC’s international network connects access points located in 30 cities of 14 countries. At the end of 2007, the Group acquired 95.7% of the shares of Memorex Telex Communications. Owing to the 12,500-kilometre optical network of Memorex, the HTCC Group is now one of the largest leading alternative telecommunications service providers in the Central-Eastern Europe Region.

The Group’s consolidated annual revenues are EUR 340 million (HUF 88 billion). HTCC's shares are traded under the symbol HTC on the American Stock Exchange.
