If the user viewing the page has permission, the PRC Button appears. Clicking the PRC Button will open the Portal Remote Control.
The Portal Remote Control or PRC is the main console for managing the portal structure and web content. The transparent design enables users to see the entire page as it would display for the rest of the users.
The Portal remote Control and the rest of the GUI is compatible with FireFox and most XHTML capable browsers.
This dialog enables the user to create a new sub page under the current page in the sitemap. Keywords and other meta data can be added for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
The content editor opens up on the very page showing the content. This is what we call WYSIWYG.

Portal Explorer is a tool for browsing the ECMS and Portal structure. It is similar in layout to Windows Explorer, so the learning curve is short. The underlying tree structure is called Portal File System or PFS.

The portal structure is also stored in the PFS, so each page is also a content, browsable by PE.

End users and developers can create their own Content Types and store them in the PFS. This is true Enterprise Content Management. The example shows a car inventory and some contracts – all defined by users.

The open architecture of the Portal Explorer enables developers to create custom listing user interfaces for different content types. This example shows a Picture Folder full of JPG files using a Flash animation.
